I provide general individual and couple counselling, specialising in Teenage issues, Post-natal Depression, Parenting Problems, Anger Management and Special Educational Needs.

l subscribe to the Ethical Code of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and carry appropriate Professional Indemnity Insurance.

I have an easy-going and non-judgemental personality. Eleven years ago I experienced severe postnatal depression and recognise how important support and re-assurance can be. I counsel in Godalming and in the centre of Guildford, Surrey.

I have two young boys, one of whom has a Statement of Special Educational Needs. This has given me a special insight into children and families of children who have learning difficulties. Training, Qualifications & Experience

I have an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (2004), and a Certificate in Counselling Skills (2002). I am also a qualified Nursery Nurse having completed my NNEB in 1984. I have a current CRB Enhanced Disclosure certificate,

I have had extensive experience working with young people (13 to 24 year age range) in G.P's surgeries (whilst working for the Youth Counselling Service), educational and voluntary organisations. I currently provide Counselling services for the YMCA in Guildford and have counselled students at Farnborough Sixth Form College in Hampshire. For some years I ran a support group for women with Postnatal Depression in Godalming. I also have a special interest in children with Special Educational Needs and have worked on a Rape and Sexual Abuse telephone helpline.

Before training to be a Counsellor I set up and ran my own Nursery School.

I also have extensive experience of working with Adults, particularly in the areas of Anger Management, Depression, Stress, Rape and Sexual Abuse, Post Natal Depression and Parenting Problems.

I generally use a person-centred approach to counselling but I tend to vary my style according to the person's individual needs, focussing on the here and now. I can usually tell from meeting the person which style of counselling will be most beneficial.
