Q1 What do you charge?
A1 My fees are £35 for a
full one hour session in Godalming and £40 for a one hour
session in the centre of Guildford. I offer discounts for students (£30
per session) and if you receive income support
(discounts are not available at my Guildford practice).
Fees are payable one session in advance.
This means that at the first session, if we agree to continue for further
sessions you will pay twice but not at all at the final session. Unless
notified the day before cancellations or non-attendance are chargeable in full.
Payment can be
made by cheque or cash or in advance by card through Google Checkout. Google
Checkout details are on my Payment page.
Q2 How many sessions might I need?
A2 Initially I contract for 6 sessions usually weekly and
review at session 4. Some issues may take longer and this will be discussed
on an individual basis at the first session.
Q3 Where can I see you?
A3 I offer counselling in 2 locations, Godalming and the
centre of Guildford. There are links to maps
of my counselling locations on my How to find me page.
Q4 When can I see you?
A4 I offer
appointments Monday to Friday. I can offer appointments in Godalming
weekday evenings and daytime, and in the centre of Guildford
during the daytime only.
I willl see you as soon as I have a vacant appointment.
Q5 How confidential is your service?
A5 Anything we discuss is completely confidential in
accordance with the British Association of Counselling and
Psychotherapy (BACP) guidelines of which I am a member. There are a
few important exceptions:
1) If you tell
me you that you are going to harm yourself or someone else.
2) If you tell
me that you intend to assist or commit an act of terrorism.
3) In the
very rare situation when
I could be ordered by a court to disclose my brief notes (which
will not identify your name).
4) If
I talk about my work with you with
my Counselling Supervisor. If I do this, I will not reveal your
name or any other details which could identify you.
Q6 What is a Counselling Supervisor?
A6 All practising Counsellors in the U.K. are required to
see a Counselling Supervisor regularly. This benefits you as it ensures that
I receive the necessary support to enable me to offer the best
service to my clients. If you are discussed,
I will not identify your name or reveal any other details which
could identify you.
